Stage Name?

We have been thinking about a "stage" name (Jay-Z, Madonna, Alicia Keys, John Legend, etc..) recently and if there is some level of an unspoken standard requiring artist to develop and use a stage name.  Nearly every major artist from hip-hop, R&B, House, and even Country music has a stage names.  Some names aren't so far from their real name but apparently their A&R did not feel as if their birth name would sell records.

Having a stage name adds a degree of mystery and detachment from your normal reality.  With the right stage name your sales could boost because it is catchy, interesting, and relates to the music you put out.  We believe a stage name is an important piece of developing a brand and image with your fans.  It should be something people want to hear and when they hear it they instantly know what to expect. 

At the same time, what's wrong with Chuck Anderson?  (???)

We will keep the wheels spinning about this one.  We have semi-selected a name and posted it on our website but we are not totally convinced a stage name is the route we most favor.

I'm walking through the city (DC) thinking I should be home working on music. With my full time job overwhelming me it's difficult to find the energy and motivation to get in the studio. I need some inspiration. Any ideas?

Mastering

I made a track titled "Ladies & Gentlemen" and I am using it to tighten up my mastering "skills."  I certainly can't call myself a pro but until I get in the FMC formal training I plan to Google the heck out of "how to master a song in Logic 9."  Of course my mind runs wild with ideas on other tracks I've made since I started adding vocals to my music.  It is difficult to stick with this one track but I feel like its the best thing to do because it allows me to stay focused practice before I go onto the next track.  Being scattered between multiple track is not the way to go for me if I am fine tuning a specific skill.
