I have been watching music channel called Fuse recently. Most of the shows are based around hip-hop and hip-hop artist. I've found myself increasingly drawn to the 30-60 minute specials that discuss the history of hip-hop and different artist point of views on how it has changed; for better or for worse.
As I mentioned in the a previous posting I had been having trouble with finding the motivation and creativity needed to make a good song. I would like to think that I am not a quitter which is why I have been searching for new resources for inspiration. I signed back up for the one-to-one's at the local Apple store where you meet with an Apple professional who is certified in Logic to teach. I feel like I have a substantial portion of logic under creative control but I also know that there is more that I don't know than do.
The last special I saw on Fuse discussed the art of making a hip-hop song regarding 16 bars, hook, and chorus. Most of my songs are not strictly hip-hop but its still good to see creativity in all different forms. I remixed an old song off of my first album we released, Dance Biology - 4Play, making it more structured based off of the hip-hop specials I watched. I plan to post in on the website soon and on Youtube. Keep a look out for it. I will keep up my search for inspiration and motivation and you keep listening.
Thanks for reading.....
